Kurt Bills, the GOP-endorsed candidate to take on U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar in Minnesota, heads east today to support Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

Bills says he'll be in Hudson at 3 p.m. to campaign for Walker, who faces a recall election Tuesday.

Bills, a one-term state representative and Rosemount high school teacher, was nominated last month for the Senate campaign, with the help of Ron Paul delegates at the GOP state convention.

In a message to supporters, he said:

When I see someone being attacked for doing the right thing, I think it is important to stand with them. Governor Scott Walker was elected to make the tough fiscal decisions that needed to be made, not the things he wanted to do.

Across this county, essential but often difficult decisions must be made to stop heaping debt and obligations onto our young people. They will bear the greatest costs for the lack of leadership now. The other side will attack even though they present no alternative, no plan, and no vision for our future.  As Governor, Scott Walker has made decisions with the next generation in mind, just as I will do as U.S. Senator.
