It may be too late the way things are going at the Legislature with the Vikings stadium in hyper-drive, but anti-tax groups are expanding their annual Tax Cut Rally at the Capitol Saturday to include some bashing of public subsidies for a stadium.

One of the rally's co-sponsoring groups, Americans for Prosperity-Minnesota, says it wants state officials to know that, despite fawning media reports, not everyone in the state supports public financing for the Vikings.

"This rally will send a clear message to Gov. Dayton and all the lawmakers in the capitol that Minnesotans do not support the new $650 million dollar Vikings football stadium proposal paid for by the citizens of the state," said John Cooney, Minnesota state director of Americans for Prosperity.

"Simply put, it is not the responsibility of the taxpayers to fund a new football stadium, despite where the money is controlled," he said.

The annual Tax Cut Rally is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Capitol. It's sponsors are The Taxpayers League of Minnesota, Americans for Prosperity and Twin Cities News/Talk AM1130.
