The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority says it has adopted a plan for the hiring of women- and minority-owned businesses to work on the new Minnesota Vikings stadium design.
HKS Sport & Entertainment has the design services contract for more than $32 million. The Authority's goal is 11 percent women- and 8 percent minority-owned businesses for the design, which means that "women owned businesses have the potential to bid for $3.5 million in new business, and minority owned businesses could bid on $2.7 million," the authority said in a statement.
Said Authority Chair Michele Kelm-Helgen:
"This plan provides the legal framework for how HKS can achieve these goals, and they have been working with the draft plan since they came on board."
