Jim Gray, the Libertarian Party's candidate for vice president, is in the Twin Cities today for several campaign events.

Minnesota has been a Libertarian Party hotbed, of sorts, or at least a Ron Paul hotbed, with 33 of the state's 40 delegates to the RNC casting nominating votes for Paul.

Gray is a former California Superior Court judge and federal prosecutor.

The Libertarian Party presidential candidate, former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson, appeared at a Macalester College campaign event in September with former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura.

Recent polls in Minnesota show the Johnson/Gray ticket getting 2 to 4 percent of the vote, which would appear to cut into Gov. Romney's support in the state.

Gray's events today are:

  • 11 a.m. A speech at the University of Minnesota, Coffman Memorial Hall/Theatre
  • 1:10 p.m. Appearance at Minnesotans United for All Families, 1313 5th Street SE, Minneapolis.
  • 5 p.m. Meet and Greet at The Tavern Pub, 3401 Louisiana Avenue South, Saint Louis Park.
