A second television ad opposing the proposed marriage amendment is airing in Minnesota.
Minnesotans United for All Families had put up its first ad Tuesday, featuring a Republican Catholic couple that has changed its views on same-sex marriage.
The new ad, which will run simultaneously with the the first one, features a Richfield man who says: "Times change. I've thought about it more."
He says his marriage is the most important thing in his life. "Who am I to deny that to anybody, gay or straight?" he says.
"Our constitution should protect our freedoms, not take them away," he adds.
The proposed amendment, if passed, would change the state constitution to say that marriage is only between one man and one woman. State law already prohibits same-sex marriage, but supporters of the amendment want to make it harder for the Legislature or courts to change the law.
