Radio host Garrison Keillor spoke for an hour at a DFL fundraiser in Lanesboro Wednesday night.
He was supporting the Fillmore County Democrats.
The Rochester Post Bulletin says he wore his red sneakers and attacked Republicans in the state Legislature for putting two social agenda issues on the ballot as constitutional amendments.
"We have a bunch of beady-eyed ideologues wasting the time of our Legislature to put useless things on the ballot," he said.
Afterwards, Keillor told the paper that he came to the rally because "they asked."
Keillor, who's never been shy about his liberal-leaning politics, said he also plans fundraisers for U.S. Reps. Tim Walz and Betty McCollum and Congressional candidate Mike Obermueller.
And he mentioned the Mitt Romney tape:
"I'm part of the 47 percent that will never vote for Mitt Romney. But I don't consider myself a victim, and I have paid income taxes since I was in my early 20s at the University of Minnesota," he said.
