Ramsey County officials are working to find homes for Hispanic/Latino children with the Permanent Families Recruitment Project.
They say there's a critical need and hope to raise awareness about the situation with an event Thursday.
Ramsey County Board Chair Rafael Ortega will talk about ways to help find permanent families for Hispanic/Latino children, who are often older and part of a sibling group, which can make them harder to place.
The county project is focused on trying to increase the number of Hispanic/Latino adoptive and foster parents.
Thursday's event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wellstone Center/Neighborhood House, 179 E. Robie St., on St. Paul's West Side.
More information on the county's adoption initiatives is online.
