Jenny Engh, government affairs director at Cargill and a former state official who was respected and much-liked, has died of cancer. She was 52.
Rick Kupchella, former reporter and now head of Bring Me the News, said of her:
"She was the kind of government person you meet and go 'Wow … I’m so glad there are people like this working for the people of this state today.'
"She was razor sharp. Super smart. Incredibly hard working."
She had been assistant commissioner and chief tax policy officer at the Minnesota Department of Revenue, and had been legislative director for the Dorsey law firm before going to Cargill. She was a member of the Minnesota Zoo's board of trustees.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
