Mayor Coleman to hold four citizen budget meetings in July

St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman has scheduled four meetings around the city in July to get suggestions from residents about next year's city budget.

Although the city is scheduled to get more Local Government Aid from the state next year, officials want to talk to residents about challenges facing the city and ask what issues are most important.

The meetings will be:

July 16, 4 to 5 p.m., El Burrito Mercado, 175 Cesar Chavez St.

July 17, 8 to 9 a.m,  Kopplin’s Coffee, 2038 Marshall Ave.

July 27, noon to 1 p.m., Rice Street Library, 1011 Rice St.

July 29,  4 to 5 p.m., Byerly’s community room, 1959 Suburban Ave.

The mayor said he's also soliciting budget suggestions via Twitter (hashtag #stpaulbudget), email or through the city website.

City staff says:

"Mayor Coleman will consider all suggestions in any of these forms — whether at a community meeting, via email or on Twitter."
