Hennepin County has updated its report on the number of same-sex marriage applications received on Thursday, the first day they could be filed.
Forty-five applications came from same-sex couples out of 87 marriage license applications received during the day.
Last night, the county reported that 38 same-sex applications were received, but the number was updated today because some of the county service centers were open later.
Ramsey County reported receiving 14 marriage license applications from same-sex couples.
Same-sex couples cannot legally wed until Aug. 1, but several metro area counties began accepting applications Thursday. There's a five-day waiting period in the state, and the licenses are valid for six months.
