With the latest "The Great Gatsby" movie opening Friday, the Minnesota Historical Society has prepared a short video primer on author F. Scott Fitzgerald's Minnesota ties.

The under-3 minute video includes shots of the St. Paul apartment where Fitzgerald was born, the old St. Paul Academy building he attended, and the home on Summit Avenue where he lived when he wrote his first published book.

The state definitely "made an impression on him and informed who he was," said Lori Williamson of MHS.

Also featured in the video is Patrick Coleman, the MHS acquisitions librarian and brother of St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman.
