Generation Now leadership visit

Modeled after the 11 year-old InterCity Leadership Visit, the Generation Now Leadership Visit is a 3-day to trip to Milwaukee for current and rising leaders within Minnesota's professional community.

This is an opportunity for emerging leaders and mid-career adults (around 25-40 years of age) who want to expand their leadership skills, both personally and professionally, through a hands-on interactive learning program. The trip will introduce participants to various innovative ideas and programs in Milwaukee and to the leaders who champion these initiatives. Participants will leave the trip with a deeper understanding of community issues in Milwaukee, the various leadership styles in use and how these styles and solutions can be adapted and incorporated into our own communities. This unique shared experience will also contribute to the building of cross-sector relationships within Minnesota and will build a more cohesive team working to tackle issues facing our region.

We will create an interactive and stimulating program that will foster networking, creative thinking and discussion among participants and community leaders. We will take the opportunity to see, experience, and explore as much of Milwaukee as possible through presentations by leaders and other sharp-minded thinkers from the nonprofit, public, and for-profit sectors who influence community decision-making and have a vested interest in community development.

The GNLV delegation will depart the Twin Cities at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14 for the six hour luxury motorcoach ride to Milwaukee, WI. During the trip to Milwaukee, there will be opportunities for interactive discussions and video presentations comparing Minneapolis-Saint Paul to Milwaukee. The delegation will depart Milwaukee at 1:00 p.m. for the return trip, arriving back in the Twin Cities at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16.

The total trip fee is $1,250.00 per person. This fee includes all transportation, single hotel accommodations for two nights, 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 evening receptions, all tours, presentations and all trip-related materials.

How do I register? Complete the registration form [PDF] and return to Wendy Helgeson at Wendy[at]citizensleague.org. There are 70 spots available and they will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. The registration deadline is Monday, July 1.
