Chris Kluwe punted a soft football from the stage of MinnRoast 2013 10 days ago. It turned out to be his last punt as a Minnesota Viking. More of the story here.
The autographed ball was auctioned off to the highest bidder, a Kluwe fan from Utica and Big Moose Lake, New York, who bid $575 “in support of the creative and imaginative work of Chris Kluwe.”
Nine bidders responded by the deadline of May 6 at noon CDT. The lowest bid was $.02, from a Minnesotan who commented that “Kluwe should shut up and punt!”
The football auction, like the rest of the proceeds from MinnRoast, supports MinnPost, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering high-quality journalism for people who care about Minnesota.
MinnRoast 2013 financial results will be posted next week, and there’s still time to make a fully tax-deductible contribution to the MinnRoast Challenge.
Contributions to date range from $10 to $1,000, and we need just $988 more to meet the $20,000 challenge goal. Just click here to donate. Whatever the amount, you have our enormous thanks.
