A march and rally for immigration reform will be held Wednesday afternoon at the state Capitol, despite the inclement weather.

Organizers plan a 3 p.m. march from the Central Presbyterian Church, on Cedar Street in downtown St. Paul, to the Minnesota State Capitol, culminating in a rally beginning at 4:40 p.m. on the south lawn of the Capitol.

They will call for national leaders to create a reasonable path to citizenship and will ask legislators to "address a number of barriers at the state level that prevent immigrants from contributing to society fully."

Leaders of many Hispanic groups, labor organizations and religious groups are scheduled to appear.

Confirmed speakers include state Sen. Sandy Pappas and state Rep. Carlos Mariani, both DFLers from St. Paul.
