Tina Smith — who is now Gov. Mark Dayton's chief of staff and was previously chief of staff for Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak — says she won't run for mayor in Minneapolis.
There had been rumors for months that Smith might jump into the crowded race to replace Rybak, who is stepping down after three terms and 12 years on the job.
The Star Tribune says today that Smith has put the rumors to rest: Se's not running and isn't endorsing any other candidate.
