The Independence Party of Minnesota says it polled its members about which policy topics they'd like to discuss this year. The top response: transportation.
So the party kicks off its 2013 policy forum series with a free forum on transportation Monday, at the Eagle Street Grille in downtown St. Paul, across from the Xcel Energy Center.
Speakers will be Will Schroeer, director of infrastructure for economic eevelopment at the Minneapolis and St. Paul Chambers of Commerce and Margaret Donahoe, executive director of the Minnesota Transportation Alliance.
The 6:30 p.m. forum will be over by 8 p.m., organizers say, so anyone interested in the NCAA men's basketball championship game can stay and watch it in the bar, or get home in time for the 8:21 p.m. tip-off.
