Gov. Mark Dayton used his Facebook page to announce the birth of his first grandson, Hugo Benjamin Dayton.
The item, filed about 2 p.m., says:
I am thrilled to announce that yesterday at 12:57 p.m., my first grandchild was born! His name is Hugo Benjamin Dayton; he weighs 7lbs 10oz, and he is 19 inches long. Hugo is a healthy baby, and his mom, Cory, is doing very well.
I am so happy for Eric, Cory, and new baby Hugo, and appreciate all your well wishes
