Last week, we mentioned that Rebecca Blank — a University of Minnesota graduate who is now acting secretary of the U.S. Commerce Department — was a finalist for the chancellor post at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
On Monday, she got the job, says the Journal Sentinel in Milwaukee.
Blank, who grew up in Roseville, had said earlier that she's comfortable on college campuses and will be happy to get away from the political battles in Washington.
Blank had applied for the UW-Madison job in 2008 but didn't get it that time. She will start July 1.
