Sauk Rapids Mayor Brad Gunderson was charged Friday with two counts of drunk driving after a Feb. 17 incident where he drove his vehicle onto a yard.
The Benton County Attorney's Office filed the charges.
On Monday, the Sauk Rapids City Council passed a resolution disapproving of the mayor's conduct, and saying he had not lived up to the higher standard expected of public officials.
Gunderson has said he does not plan to resign over the incident.
The St. Cloud Times says Gunderson told officers at the scene that he'd had two 22-ounce beers. His first court appearance is scheduled for April 9.
