With a large gathering of law enforcement officials expected for the funeral of St. Paul Police Officer Josh Lynaugh, the city of St. Paul is closing some streets near the Cathedral Friday morning.
Lynaugh, 30, died Saturday from complications of a heart attack. He'd twice received the department's Life Saving Award.
To prepare for the 10 a.m. funeral on Friday, the city will close some streets from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. (The streets will be open only for local residents and students and staff of St. Paul College who may need access to the school’s parking lots.)
Affected streets are:
- Summit Avenue between North Western Avenue and Marshall Avenue
- Selby Avenue between North Western and Summit
- Dayton Avenue between North Farrington Street and Summit
A visitation will be held Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m., at Mueller Parkway Chapel, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul.
Gov. Mark Dayton has ordered state flags to fly at half-staff Friday, in Lynaugh's honor.
