The Minnesota State Agricultural Society, which runs the Minnesota State Fair without any tax money, approved $6 million in fairgrounds improvements and repairs at its annual meeting over the weekend.
The board also agreed to keep fair admission prices the same next year: $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and children. Discount tickets are available for $9 before the fair opens. This year's fair dates are Aug. 22 to Sept. 2.
The board will build a new restroom west of the DNR building and put new roofs on the Ramberg Senior Center, Fan Central, DNR and Admin Too Buildings.
Also planned are hand-washing stations in the Food Building, along with plenty of infrastructure repair, landscaping and painting.
