The Minnesota Council on Foundations has elected board members and directors for 2013.
Kevin Walker, president and CEO of the Northwest Area Foundation, was elected to another one-year term as board chair.
Also re-elected were Vice Chair Carolyn Roby, vice president of Wells Fargo Foundation Minnesota, and Secretary Kari Suzuki, director of operations at the Otto Bremer Foundation.
Brad Kruse, program director at the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation, was elected treasurer.
New directors elected to three-year terms ending in 2015 are:
- Kathleen Annette, president and CEO, Blandin Foundation
- JoAnne Birkholz, foundation manager, Medica Foundation
- Mike Newman, vice president and director of community relations, Travelers Foundation
- June Noronha, senior manager, Bush Foundation
Susan Bass Roberts, community relations director for Best Buy, had been elected earlier to fill a one-year vacancy.
Directors elected to second three-year terms ending in 2015 are:
- Julie Hara, executive director, Marbrook Foundation
- Steve Joul, president, Central Minnesota Community Foundation
- Tim Ober, president, Mardag Foundation
The council is a regional association of grantmakers, including family and private independent foundations, community and other public foundations, and corporate foundations and giving programs. Its member organizations provide about three-quarters of all grantmaking in the state.
