Two well-known agencies for those with disabilities, Courage Center and the Sister Kenny Institute, have agreed to merge.
The combined operations will be part of the Allina Health System.
"The boards of directors of Courage Center and Foundation and Allina Health approved an agreement to combine the operations of Courage Center and Sister Kenny Institute and our respective foundations," said John Tschida, vice president of public affairs and research for Courage Center.
Courage Center, with headquarters in Golden Valley and several locations around the state, provides services including medical rehabilitation, health, fitness and sports to those with disabilities or complex health conditions.
Sister Kenny offers rehabilitative services at outpatient locations and nine hospitals throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
Jan Malcolm, chief executive officer of Courage Center, said in a statement:
"By partnering to create a more seamless experience, we will make it easier for our clients to get the care they need, which is key to improving outcomes."
