Gov. Mark Dayton has ordered flags at state and federal buildings in Minnesota to be flown at half-staff Wednesday to honor Marine Lance Corporal Dale Means of New Prague, who was killed in Afghanistan.
A funeral will be held today for Means, 23, at St. Patrick's Church of Cedar Lake, in Jordan.
He was killed Nov. 18 while in a convoy that was hit by an IED, improvised exploding device, in Helmand Province.
He was a 2007 graduate of New Prague High School, on his first deployment. He'd enlisted in the Marines in January 2011 and married a high school classmate just over a year ago.
