Ramsey County officials: Vote early on Election Day to avoid lines

Vote early on Tuesday to avoid the long dinner-time lines, says the Ramsey County Elections Office.

The polls are open in Minnesota from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Anyone in line when the polls close will be allowed to vote.

The longest waits at the polls typically occur after people leave work and through the evening hours, the elections people say.

Shortest lines are usually from noon to 3 p.m., so they suggest that those who aren't working that day vote then.

State law requires employers to give workers time during the day to vote without loss of pay.
