Minnesota hasn't seen much presidential campaign action this year, especially after Michele Bachmann and Tim Pawlenty dropped out of the Republican candidate sweepstakes.
But starting Monday, President Obama's campaign will make its presence known in the state, with a week-long tour that will make 42 stops.
The president won't be here.
At various points on the tour, they expect Mayors Chris Coleman and R.T. Rybak, State Auditor Rebecca Otto, Sen. Al Franken, Rep. Keith Ellison, state Reps. Terry Morrow and Jim Davnie and others to appear at roundtables, debate watch parties, press conferences, and discussions with voters.
Chris Coleman gets the heavy lifting on the first shift Monday, with four appearances around the state:
- St. Paul, with Ellison, 10 a.m. at the Obama headquarters, 924 Selby Ave.
- Alexandria, with Morrow, 1:30 p.m.
- Fergus Falls, with Morrow, 4 p.m.
- Morris, with Morrow, at a 7:30 p.m. debate watch with students at UM-Morris.
On Tuesday, Otto goes to Detroit Lakes, Crookston and Moorhead.
Wednesday, Otto is in Grand Rapids and Franken appears in Duluth.
