Michele Bachmann raised $4.5 million between July and September, her campaign announced Friday. She reportedly has $3.5 million on hand for her re-election bid against DFLer Jim Graves.
The average donation was $45, according to her campaign. She's raised at least $12.5 million for her House re-election campaign, one of the highest totals in the nation.
“I am humbled by the enormous outpouring of grassroots support for my campaign focused on keeping America the most secure and prosperous nation in the world,” Bachmann said in a statement.
Graves has not announced his fundraising numbers or filed a report with the Federal Elections Commission. The deadline to do so is Oct. 15. Graves had $350,000 on hand at the end of July.
No word yet on whether Bachmann transferred funds to help pay down her presidential campaign debt. Her congressional campaign committee spent $119,000 doing so between April and May.
